How do I join the waitlist with Noise Mate?

Simply click any "Join Waitlist" button on our homepage, fill in your details, and you'll be among the first to experience Noise Mate when we launch. Our team is working hard to bring advanced noise monitoring to everyone.

What are the age requirements for using the app?

Noise Mate is intended exclusively for individuals aged 18 and over. Because the app involves gathering evidence for noise disputes and requires signing legal terms of service, we do not knowingly allow minors to create accounts.

Can I have multiple accounts for different properties?

No. Our Terms of Service require one account per user. However, if you are on the Ultimate tier, you can use our upcoming "Multi-Address Tracking" feature to separate logs for different locations within a single account.

Privacy & Security

Does Noise Mate sell my data?

Emphatically no. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or audio recordings to advertisers, data brokers, or any third parties. Your data is your property.

Are my audio recordings private?

Yes. Audio is processed on-device. We use AES-256 bank-level encryption both in transit and at rest. Astri Devs Ltd staff cannot freely browse or listen to your recordings without your explicit permission or a formal legal order.

How does Noise Mate use my GPS location?

We capture your latitude and longitude only when you generate a noise log. This provides legally robust attribution for your reports—proving exactly where the disturbance was recorded. You can revoke location access at any time in your phone's settings.

What is your data retention policy?

We keep your cloud data as long as your account is active. To protect your privacy, we purge accounts that have been inactive for more than 18 months. We will always send you a warning email 30 days before this happens so you can sign in and keep your data.

Data & Storage

What is the difference between Cloud Sync and Local-Only?

Cloud Sync (Default): Logs are stored on your phone and backed up to our secure servers. This allows multi-device access and data recovery if you lose your phone.

Local-Only Mode: Logs exist only on your device. All existing cloud backups are permanently deleted. This is the ultimate privacy option, but you are responsible for your own backups.

What happens if I switch to Local-Only Mode?

Switching to Local-Only Mode triggers an immediate and irreversible deletion of all your noise recordings from our cloud servers. Your data will then live only on your physical phone.

Can I use the app without an internet connection?

Yes. You can record logs and measure decibels entirely offline. If you have Cloud Sync enabled, the app will automatically upload your recordings once you reconnect to Wi-Fi or cellular data.

Evidence Share Links

How do I share my logs with my landlord or council?

If you are on the Ultimate tier, you can generate a secure share link. The recipient receives a Case ID and a unique password to view your Evidence Portal at noisemate.co.uk/reports.

What personal information do recipients see?

Recipients can see the noise data, audio files (if allowed), and your name and email address for attribution purposes. They cannot see your account ID, password, or precise GPS coordinates.

How secure are these reports?

Reports use Two-Factor Access. A recipient must have both the Case ID and the specific unique password. You can also set links to expire or revoke access instantly via the app.

Why is my shared report paused?

If your subscription tier drops below Ultimate, all your active share links are automatically paused to protect your data. They will reactivate instantly if you re-upgrade.

What are the subscription tiers?

Free: Basic logging, limited monthly recordings.

Plus: Unlimited local logging, cloud sync, PDF exports.

Ultimate: Full Evidence Share portal, AI analysis, priority support.

How are payments processed?

All payments are handled securely by **Apple App Store** or **Google Play Store**. Astri Devs Ltd never sees or stores your credit card details.

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your device's subscription settings (Apple ID or Google Account). Cancellation is effective at the end of the current billing cycle.
